Gaston Chaissac's work is one of the most abundant and singular of the 20th century. As a draughtsman, painter, sculptor, writer and poet, he never ceased to reinvent words, create forms and divert everyday objects. He lived in Sainte Florence and left his mark there by painting the toilets in the old school, which have since been listed as a Historic Monument, and can be seen during the visit.

A freely accessible walking and cycling route "In the footsteps of Chaissac" takes you on a journey of discovery through the epistolary work of Gaston Chaissac. 17 km, starting from the Espace Gaston Chaissac and finishing at Place des tilleuls in Sainte Florence.
