Set amidst ancient woodland, the Plessis-Bergeret site offers pleasant walks in the heart of nature.
This 8-hectare pond, fed by the Astiers stream and formerly owned by the diocese of Luçon, was used by the Yonnais as a swimming pool until the 1960s. Kermesses and nautical jousts were held there in a festive atmosphere. Since 2005, this site has been classified as a Sensitive Natural Area by the Vendée Department. Its vastness gives it an undeniably majestic character. With a pond on one side and woodland on the other, the site offers a range of environments that are particularly suited to walking and discovering nature. Visitors can also take advantage of the renovation of the dyke and the development of a 2.5 km walkway, carried out by the Département in 2014 to ensure that the site is accessible to people with disabilities.
