Cyclists friendly
Bike riding tip N°2: are you on the right road?
Open your eyes and let yourself be guided!
All along cycling routes have specific signage to guide you.
Here are the different types of signs you will encounter:
- Directional signs: Made of wood, with "Vendée Vélo" noted on them, they will guide you along the route, indicating the distances in kilometres. For local loops, these are usually "Vendée Vélo" plates attached to the bollards or wooden posts.
- Road Markings: By region, and especially in towns, the vertical signs can be replaced by a road marking "Vendée Vélo".
- The position signs of the major routes "Vendée Vélo": they are usually present at the starting point of each section or on stop off areas along the routes. They show, on a map, the route that you are following.
BE AWARE
If you cannot see any further indications on the route you are following, you will probably have taken the wrong direction.
