La Lutine is a tearoom / bakery renowned for its many gold medals: brioche, minute cake, préfou... Everything is 100% homemade. La Parenthèse Inattendue - an unexpected artistic encounter

In Saint Michel le Cloucq (2 place la Maison Neuve) La Parenthèse Inattendue is above all encounter between a place and an artist: a place steeped in history, located on the road to Saint Jacques de Compostelle. It is also an atypical and endearing artist/painter, with more than 3,500 canvases painted over the last 30 years. La Parenthèse Inattendue is an all-stone 240m² barn housing a loft as well as the Dominique Malabry school of painting with training courses, lessons, exhibitions... so have your brushes at the ready!

Chocolat de l'Atelier du Gout

Foussais-Payré a double treat - where there’s wine there’s chocolate!

Another "Petite Cité de Caractère" invites you first of all to indulge in its stall, “Les Ateliers du Goût”: a chocolate factory that offers numerous workshops (macaroons, brioches, and chocolate of course!). As you wander around this delightful village, beautiful outstanding sculptures will amaze you. Following  this sculptural route you will  discover these unique pieces of artwork, sculpted with a chainsaw during the Symposium. An event not to be missed, at the end of July which welcomes around fifteen sculptors.

Faymoreau a miner’s experience in the wine tour around Pissotte

Coal in Vendée, that seems highly improbable! But yet, from 1827 to 1958, men did descend into the depths of the earth. Today, visitors can see their settlements which are still inhabited, their cultivated working gardens and the Miners' Chapel. Its 19 stained-glass windows (created by Carmelo Zagari) mixing colours, figures, and spirituality in homage to underground miners.

Return to Vouvant, to get back to your starting point following the D67 or alternatively head towards Fontenay le Comte, town of art and history on the D3 and then the D745.

Possibility to take a break at the Xanton Lake Leisure Centre.
