Wine tours that appreciate the heritage and AOC wines of the Chantonnay region

French wine circuit of 41 km

Travelling by car, this wine tour allows you to visit the Vendean countryside. The circuit sets out from Chantonnay, a former industrial town well known for its famous lime kilns. Along the way, you will discover bucolic landscapes: idyllic washhouses, beautiful chateaux, charming villages, picturesque lakes, and ponds...

Pay a visit to Sigournais, a pretty little town with its historic circuit, where you can discover its church, its fountain, and its stunning feudal castle (only open in July and August).

At the end of your visit, try out some of the regional cuisine: a braised ham, a Vendean specialty, accompanied by a glass of red “Les Silex” wine (AOC Fiefs Vendéens Chantonnay). The Lake Rochereau is an ideal for a digestive stroll.

Returning to your car, take the direction for the Priory of Grammont, one of the best-preserved priories in France. A beautiful place if you are looking for some peace and quiet.

You will end your loop at Puybelliard, a charming town and its old mansions with mullioned windows, its church, washhouse and prison tower. This historic circuit can be explored on foot or by bike.
