The wine route of the South Vendée on a free ride
Sud Vendée Tourisme has put together a lovely 60 km wine tour for you to take by car... between waterways, wine estates and artists' studios.
Classified as one of the "most beautiful villages in France", Vouvant is the starting and finishing point of this loop.
The next stop is Pissotte, where you will meet the last winegrower of the village: Mathieu Coirier. Then a short stop in the Petite Cité de Caractère of Foussais-Payré.
We take the car again, towards the Marais poitevin and more precisely Vix, to visit the Mercier vineyards.
A little advice beforehand: think of the little stopover in Maillezais to enjoy a flat ride in the canals of the Green Venice and visit its abbey!
