The MERCIER family has been devoted to the winegrowing tradition since 1890. The development of the estate is closely linked to the wine nursery business, for which the know-how is recognised worldwide.

The vineyard covers 68 hectares and is planted on the clay-limestone terraces with flint outcrops in the commune of Vix in the southern Vendée.

The region's climate is warm temperate oceanic, giving our vines the greatest potential for ripening in the Vendée. As a wine nursery, we have access to a wide range of varieties and selections.
This great diversity gives our vintages great complexity and characterises the style of our wines.



All year round, for individuals and groups, 3 tours are available, by prior arrangement:

1. Sud Loire Expression. 10€/person
With this option, a member of the estate team is entirely dedicated to you. We begin the visit in the vineyards with a detailed presentation of our terroir, our estate and the Fiefs Vendéens appellation. We also take the opportunity to discuss our vision of viticulture, the importance of plants in making wine and the use of sustainable growing practices that respect the environment. We continue our visit in the winery, where you can meet the team, discover our tools, the vat room and the bottling area, and talk about our winemaking methods and, through them, the profile of the wines we want to make. We end our tour in the cellar for a commented tasting of 4 of our wines. At the end of this "Sud Loire Expression" private tour, the estate will no longer hold any secrets for you.


2. Birth of the Bubble. 10€/person
With this package, someone from the estate is entirely dedicated to you. We're still the only ones in the Vendée to master all the skills involved in making this wine, which is also found in Champagne. This tour takes us directly to our cellar, where we show you all the stages involved in producing our Traditional Methods. We'll show you all the stages involved in the production of our traditional methods, including prise de mousse, riddling, disgorging and dosage of liqueurs. We will also discuss the differences between "Pétillants, Crémants, Champagnes and Mousseux". We'll also be taking the opportunity to discuss our vision of winegrowing and the importance of plants in the production of wine, as well as the implementation of sustainable growing practices that respect our environment.


3. Nursery trade. 10€/person
In this package, you will discover the very specific world of the Wine Nursery through a private visit that is unique in the Vendée and perhaps even in France! This is your chance to understand what makes our company the World Expert in the sector.
We'll take you through all the stages involved in producing a vine plant, and explain the specific features of this essential but little-known activity. The production of rootstocks and grafts, stratification, grafting, nursery monitoring, sorting, etc.... You'll know all about it. We'll also look at the role of plants in the production of today's and tomorrow's wines.

These tours last around 1h30-2h and end with a tasting of the estate's wines.
