MUST-SEES AND POPULAR FESTIVALS IN THE VENDÉE

FROM THE 7TH TO THE 13TH OF SEPTEMBER – Iranian Film Festival in Jard sur Mer

In support of Iranian artists, the Cinéma des Ormeaux in Jard sur Mer is organising the Iranian Film Festival in Jard sur Mer. Eight films will be shown, and traditional Iranian dishes will be served to the public. Reservations are nowopen for the last night.

FROM THE 16TH TO THE 17TH OF SEPTEMBER – Méli Mel’Arts in La Roche sur Yon

The Street Arts Festival "Méli Mel'Arts" aims to bring together as many people as possible to introduce new talented artists. Three free shows, open to all.

17TH OF SEPTEMBER – Morgate Festival at Port de la Meule on Ile d’Yeu

On Saturday 17th of September, let’s plan a little trip to Ile d'Yeu to see the Morgate Festival at Port de La Meule! You will find music, entertainment, food and especially a lot of fun. Check ferry crossings to Ile d'Yeu.

THE 17th AND 18TH OF SEPTEMBER – European Heritage Days in Vendée

Patrimoine” or Heritage Days return in 2022. It's the occasion to visit the emblematic places of our beautiful region, the castles, the exhibitions and all the festivities organised for this European event! Do not miss it.

New in 2022: a giant cluedo organised organized in Fontenay le Comte! More information at the tourist office in Fontenay. 

THE 17TH AND 18TH OF SEPTEMBER –  Abracadabulles comic book festival in Les Sables d’Olonne

Comics bring everyone together. Young and old are invited to this festival, wich will feature interviews with authors, screenings, documentaries and signings will take place. You are sure to discover the very latest in comic books

FROM THE 22ND OF SEPTEMBER TO THE 8TH OF OCTOBER – l’Air d’en Rire festival in La Roche sur Yon

L’Air d’en Rire festival is back for its 13th edition visiting 7 towns in the Vendée! This year, discover new comedians as well as leading names: Fabrice Eboué, Alex Vizorek, Lola Dubini, Tristan Lucas or Karim Duval will be in the Vendée from September 22nd to October 8th  2022.

In September, the Vendée is all about festivals! Concerts, musical « apéros » cocktails … There is something for everyone.

THE 3RD OF SEPTEMBER – The N’Joy Festival in Sevremont

This new edition of the N'Joy festival in Sèvremont hopes to fulfil all its promises. Several rock and electro artists will perform in the Parc des Lavandières,. Food and refreshments will also be available. 

THE 3RD AND 4TH SEPTEMBER – Grat’Moila Festival at La Chapelle Palluau

The Grat'Moila punk-rock festival returns in 2022 and celebrates its 30th birthday! On the line-up: Lofofora, Burning Heads, Los Tres Puntos, Krav Boca or Mobütu. It’s gonna rock!

THE 2ND AND 3RD OF SEPTEMBER – Odyssée Festival

The Odyssey Festival is an invitation to set sail on a journey from Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. Come and dance to the rhythm of rap, pop, electro, rock and r'n'b ! The programme is excellent : Emma Peters, Dynamite Shakers, Lujipeka, Mentalo... Make a note of these dates: 2nd and 3rd of September!

THE 2ND, 3RD and 4TH OF SEPTEMBER – Face & Si Festival

The programme for the Face & Si Festival in Mouilleron le Captif is very exciting: Hoshi, Vitaa & Slimane, Suzanne, Oldelaf, Superbus... They will all be in the Vendée to set the place on fire! See you there - September 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

THE 2ND AND 3RD OF SEPTEMBER – Ose Festival

The OSE Festival returns to the Usine Etoile in Fontenay le Comte. If  you like opera, you’re in for a treat. Famous names, such as the Les Sables d'Olonne Orchestra and its conductor Christian Guillonneau, The Opera Locos, or Laurent Arcaro will be performing. So don't miss it under any circumstances.

THE 10TH OF SEPTEMBER – Jazz Festival in Le Mazeau

Come and listen to the jazz musicians at Le Mazeau ! For its 4th edition, this jazz festival held in southern Vendée will host four concerts from 5pm to 11pm featuring young talents such as Soulquake or well-known confirmed artists like Sarah Thorpe.

THE 9TH AND 10TH OF SEPTEMBER – Festival Meltiv’Son in Antigny

The festival season is not over yet in the Vendée! The Meltiv'Son music festival will have something for everyone! Emblematic groups of from the Vendée such as the Chameleons or Léonie will play for the  pleasure of their fans! On Saturday 10th September and throughout the day a farmers’ market with local products will take place.

THE 10TH AND 11TH OF SEPTEMBER – Variations Festival in Ile d’Yeu

The sounds of pop, jazz and traditional music  will echo from the Port de La Meule, the Plage des Sapins and the Plage des Sabias on Ile d’Yeu ! The Festival Variations Festival promises an amazing journey through our beautiful Yeu island. An event that promises to be very enjoyable.

FROM THE 16TH TO THE 18TH OF SEPTEMBER – « Les Rendez-vous de la Chaize » in Chaize Giraud

This classical music festival is held every year and delights music lovers. Take advantage of this weekend in September to listen to the works of great classical composers.

THE 17TH OF SEPTEMBER – Les Givrés Festival in Givrand

The rapper Georgio, and the groups La p'tite fumée, Strollad or Babylon Circus... Four great performances are on the horizon! Book your tickets now for this festival, that promises to be crazy!

SEPTEMBER'S SPORTING EVENTS IN THEVENDÉE

THE 3RD AND 4TH OF SEPTEMBER – 10th Rallye des Cotes de Lumières in Beaulieu sous la Roche

The 10th edition of the Rallye des Côtes de Lumière will take place in Beaulieu sous la Roche, near La Roche sur Yon! On the 3rd and 4th of September, close to the rue du stade cars and other powerful engines will be racing ! And the hearts of the enthusiasts too!

THE 4TH OF SEPTEMBER - Golden Globe Race departs from Les Sables d'Olonne - Village open from the 20th of August to the 4th of September

Les Sables d'Olonne is well-known for its sailing races. The emblematic Golden Globe Race returns in 2022! The skippers of the GCR will have to sail 30,000 miles non-stop and without assistance or electronic help A huge challenge ! 

THE 11TH OF SEPTEMBER – Cavalcades in La Roche sur Yon

For horse riding enthusiasts or novice’s, visit the Haras de la Vendée in September and discover the different equestrian disciplines during the Cavalcades.

FROM THE 30 OF SEPTEMBER TO THE 2ND OF OCTOBER - French Masters ShortBoards Championships in Les Sables d'Olonne

The Vendée, home of water sports, and land of surfing ! The French shortboard championships will thrill onlookers. This discipline is less known than classic surfing (the board is smaller than a regular surfboard) but is just as spectacular. Are you already looking forward to it?
