Situated in the heart of the village of Sallertaine, just a short walk from the town hall, church, shops and Sainte Marie school, the Vaulieu garden welcomes passers-by to unveil its beautiful colours. Popular with brides and grooms, this green setting is often the setting for family and group photos.
Come and enjoy the colours and smells of the Jardin de Vaulieu in Sallertaine.
The Jardin de Vaulieu, the town's floral gem, used to be a sandstone limestone quarry. It was exploited from ancient times until the 1950s. The Town Hall acquired it in 2003 and restored it.
The Vaulieu garden is another historic site.
It provides an insight into the geological evolution of Sallertaine through the ages. Sallertaine was built on a limestone island. It was once surrounded by salt marshes.
