L'atelier is a small gîte with a 3-star tourist classification, with two bedrooms - one with a double bed (140cm) and the other with two single beds (90cm). A spacious shower room and a 20m2 lounge with a small kitchenette.
A bakery, a butcher's shop, a bar/tobacco shop, a pizzeria, a grocery shop, a pharmacy, a bank, a post office... are just two minutes' walk from the property.
Fontenay Le Comte, a Renaissance town with its cathedral, château, museum and town centre, is 10 minutes away... La Rochelle is 35mm away, with its beautiful aquarium and all the surrounding islands: Ré, Aix, Oléron,...
The beaches of the Vendée are 45mm away: l'Aiguillon sur Mer and la Faute sur Mer...
For forest lovers, there is a large forest estate at Mervent Vouvant with walking and mountain bike trails and a beach for water sports.

Around Vix, there are amusement parks, a lake with a waterslide, and the nature zoo in the Mervent-Vouvant forest.
Not forgetting the local heritage, places rich in history with the Abbeys of Nieul sur L' Autise and Maillezais and the Marais Poitevin with its boat trips, canoeing, walking or cycling to admire the magnificent views over the canals and the flora and fauna.
The Parc du Puy du Fou and the Futuroscope are 1 hour away, and the motorway is 8 minutes away.
Just 3kms from the banks of the Sèvre, where the Vélofrancette and the Vendée vélo pass by, we would be delighted to welcome our cycling friends.

A little history: At the time (Gallo-Roman) of the Gulf of the Pictons, Vix was an island surrounded by marshland. This marsh was drained by man, creating a wet marsh and a dry marsh. In the 13th century, the monks turned this land into livestock, wine and market garden estates. Today, our land still produces these products, which are the specialities of the region (Fiefs Vendéens wines and the marsh melon).
